GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
-
Gmail Account Requirement: Access to our electronic folder is essential. Please
ensure
you have a Gmail account set up for this purpose.

Laptop Requirements: It is imperative that you bring your own laptop. For Mac
users,
please remember to bring an HDMI interface/adapter as well.

Paper Folder Collection: Upon your arrival, please obtain your paper folder from
the
Owlypia coordinator present at the site.

Early Arrival: We request that you arrive in the hall 30 minutes prior to the
event's
start time. This will allow adequate time for setup.

Challenge Room Entry: To maintain the integrity of the challenges, teachers and
parents
are not permitted in the challenge room.

Team Verification: Before commencing each challenge, please announce all team names
and
ensure that teams are correctly situated in their designated room.

Software Setup: Prior to starting each challenge, remember to click the
"CLEAR LOCAL SESSION" button once.

Instruction Briefing: At the beginning of each challenge, please clearly explain
the
instructions to the students.

Grade Recording: Once the challenges are completed, please quickly transfer your
grades
to the Google Sheet using the link provided in the email you initially received.

Paper Form Submission: Before departing the venue, submit all paper forms to the
Owlypia coordinator.
CHALLENGE INSTRUCTIONS
IMPROMPTU CHALLENGE
- Select the room and enter the pin provided via email.
- Show the "Instructions for Impromptu Challenge" screen to the students and
explain the rules in detail.
- Click the IMPROMPTU CHALLENGE button.
- Call students one by one in the designated order and mark them in the
"Choose"
column.
- Click the THINK button to allow them to
get
prepared for 1 minute. They are allowed to use their gadgets this time.
- Click the TALK button for 2 minutes.
Gadgets
are not allowed!
- Choose the next student.
- Absent students? Please untick the students who have not shown up in the "Completed" column.
Note:

Please Remember to enter all students' scores in the sheet in your judge folder after the
competition (if you've used pen&paper for marking).
SPEECH-CRAFT CHALLENGE
Setting Up:
- Arrange two tables at the front of the classroom.
- Place "affirmative" and "negative" signs on the tables.
Procedure:
- Select the room and enter the pin provided via email
- Display and explain the "Instructions for Speech Craft Challenge" to
students
- Please be advised that in some cases, a team may need to talk twice. Please check the whole
list and
inform the team beforehand.
- Call the teams in the given order.
- Inform each team if they are on the affirmative or negative side.
- Provide the debate topic to both teams.
- Allow 7 minutes for teams to prepare. Gadgets are allowed this time.
- Each team member gets 2 minutes to present their speech. Gadgets are not allowed!
- After all speeches, each team gets 2 minutes for rebuttals.
Note:
- Start with a member from the affirmative team, followed by a member from the negative team.
Continue this pattern until all members have spoken.
- Remember to keep the time: you may simply click on the TALK button.
- After the challenge, record all students' scores in the sheet in your judge folder.
KNOWLEDGE CHALLENGE
- Select the room and enter the PIN code provided via email.
- Show the "Knowledge Challenge" instruction screen to the students and explain the rules in detail..
- Help students who cannot find their exam link by locating it from the list.
- Remind students that they will have two attempts.
PENDOWN CHALLENGE
- Access the Pendown Essay Evaluation System via the provided link.
- Teams log in with their registered team name and password.
- Students write essays based on age-appropriate topics displayed on their screen.
- Essay requirements: minimum 100 words, maximum 1000 words.
- Each team can submit only once per season.
- Essays are automatically evaluated by AI based on four criteria (25 points each):
- Content & Ideas: Clear, relevant, and original ideas
- Organisation & Structure: Logical organization and transitions
- Language Use: Precise vocabulary and correct grammar
- Reflection & Development: Meaningful reflection on soft skills
Note:
- Students will only see a congratulations message after submission.
- Evaluation scores and feedback are visible only to administrators.
- Access admin panel with provided credentials to view all results.
